"i-Help is a student driven initiative at IIM Indore, underpinned by a firm belief in empowerment of India’s underprivileged children, to not only enable them to differentiate between right and wrong but also to help the nation in tapping their unexplored potential. We incessantly endeavour to employ creative learning methods to infuse impressionable young minds with curiosity and excitement as these first generation pupils take their unprecedented steps in embarking upon a journey that will lead to their liberation and our contentment.

We supplement their classroom sessions with creative educational and extracurricular activities at the IIM campus to equip them to think out of the box and facilitate their smooth absorption into the mainstream core. I feel tremendously honoured to be a part of this noble initiative and privileged to work with my student colleagues arduously determined in fulfilling their parts as socially responsible citizens. A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.

I consider i-Help to be much bigger than an organisation. It is an emotion which you catch, and it is hard to get rid of it; hard to explain in words, but great to experience. My 2-year journey has been a complete learning experience from the very first visit I made as a volunteer. Teaching Mathematics and English to class 5 kids who were full of energy to learn something new and didn't want to stop until they quenched their thirst for knowledge. The journey has given me several happy moments, from students qualifying state level examinations and winning scholarships and looking up to me as inspiration, to name a few. i-Help volunteers have a huge responsibility to be an inspiration for the kids not only to dream bigger but take one step forward at a time to achieve it. We can argue on the level of impact i-Help makes in the lives of students. But, I believe creating a massive impact requires small but constant efforts, which is what i-Help intends to do. As a coordinator, I plan to contribute my bit and take those tiny steps towards our mission with my team in the best possible capacity and make the emotion of i-Help a little louder.

Looking back, being a part of i-Help is one of the best experiences I’ve had at IIM Indore. The journey from a volunteer to the Academic Co-coordinator, and finally to the Overall Coordinator has been an unforgettable, unparalleled, and priceless experience. i-Help is not a series of monotonous Thursday operations to teach the kids; it is a medium to equip the young minds to realize their dreams. For each one of us who has walked a few steps with us or the entire mile, it has been a journey worth it. I feel privileged to lead this organization. The smiles which we bring on the faces of kids are incomparable to any other form of contentment. It is a pleasure to admit that we have been a successful organization due to our devoted volunteer base. Despite the hectic schedule of the volunteers, they wait for Thursdays to impart education to the future of our nation. I have witnessed the growth of the organization over the years. I hope that my team shall do justice to the efforts and initiatives undertaken by us and I hope we bring unprecedented glory to the organization. To be honest, I assumed volunteering would be demanding work – providing the students with guidance and inspiring them to learn – to be a teacher is an incredible responsibility. But it is easy to love them.
