i-Help, a student-run initiative, is an organization of dedicated, like-minded, and hardworking individuals who believe that education is the greatest weapon against all evils of society. It’s with this spirit that we associate with various schools and NGOs to assist them with resourceful manpower which has a background from all three streams (Science, Commerce & Arts), to educate, motivate and inculcate the desire to study among those who have been unfortunate enough not to reap the benefits of education. Our primary cause is education of underprivileged children, since we believe that education is the key to overall development of an individual.
Our Mission
We wish to educate, encourage, motivate, inspire & lead the underprivileged children of Madhya Pradesh to pursue higher education which will stabilise their economic well-being to a large extent.
We envision to bridge the teaching-learning gap and help underprivileged kids unearth their hidden potentials. We are committed to inspire the kids to nurture their interests and develop their will to contribute to nation-building in their own capacity.
We wanted to do one thing, and do that really well.
i-Help strives to empower children through education and knowledge. Apart from our classroom interactions, we continuously try to improve their welfare by conducting career counselling sessions, hygiene and cleanliness drives, and social awareness programmes.
The volunteers of i-Help visit nearby government schools in Indore every week, teaching them elementary Mathematics and English. The grades taught are from class 4 to 8. The modules used for teaching are specially designed to help the students in their classrooms as well as prepare for the NMMS examination.
To help meritorious students achieve their dreams, i-Help came up with an innovative idea to impart additional knowledge, which would be useful for competitive exams. Students are given specialised exam modules to help them prepare for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS) conducted annually by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The Vidya Daan project was one of our large scale initiatives that covered 9226 in 8 districts all over Indore. i-Help and its volunteers were under the immediate direction of the Divisional Commissioner, who founded the Vidya Daan initiative and saw that our efforts deemed fruitful to all the schools and it’s students.
i-Help volunteers collected around Rs 25,000 for the Kashmir flood victims. through various activities that included conducting Nukkad Natak in Chappan Market in Indore, running a juice and snack store, making diyas and selling them to the IIM Indore community.
We also believe in giving the students a holistic development. We conduct various annual events, such as the Cultural Day, to showcase their talents, Uthaan - a sports day of fun-filled activities. We also hold career counselling workshops, vocational training days, donation drives for the schools, and other interactive sessions with the children.
To collect money for the Chennai flood victims, the i-Help team kept donation boxes in various hostels of the campus. Students were encouraged to donate money, and the amount of around Rs 11,000 was collected and given to the Chennai flood victims.
The team over the years have undertaken several projects to improve the teaching pedagogies such as the
National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship is a scholarship exam of the Central government for class 8 students. This scheme targets to award the students of the economically weaker section with scholarships to encourage them to pursue higher studies. We prepare the students for the exam and earn scholarships.
Over the years, we have improved our selections in the exam and we wish to expand to other exams too.
